If you are a fan of the Pokémon games, these beautiful pieces of art will take you on a journey through Kanto, and remind you of how epic that first pair of games really were. Starting in the iconic Pallet Town, digital artist and game developer, Simone Maendl has been working her way through the region where the series began. Using inspiration from the real world, Simone is building a version of Kanto that is more believable than any shown before, in my opinion. Looking at this artwork takes me back to a childhood walking along rivers, imagining there were Pokemon everywhere, and I love that. Last night I stayed up late to watch this press event, realised it was probably in Japanese and decided to just follow along on Twitter instead. Then my internet gave up so I couldn’t write about it.
